Scientific-Practical Seminar at MSU: “COP29 – Green World”

A scientific-practical seminar on the topic “COP29 – Green World” was held at Mingachevir State University (MSU) under the organization of the Department of Physics and Ecology, within the framework of the “Year of Solidarity for a Green World.” The seminar, held as part of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), was attended by employees of the 8th Regional Ecology and Natural Resources Department (RETSI) and faculty members of the MSU Engineering Faculty.

In the opening speech, Dr. Təranə Yusibova, Head of the Department of Physics and Ecology at MSU, and Dr. Vüqar Mustafayev, Head of the Department of Science and Innovation, discussed the goals and objectives of COP29, the global efforts to combat climate change, and the significance of the conference. They also emphasized the importance of the “Year of Solidarity for a Green World,” and discussed ways to implement global actions on climate change, carbon emissions, and their reduction at local and regional levels. Both speakers presented the research and innovative projects carried out by MSU in this area and highlighted the importance of joint efforts in environmental protection.

Following the opening speeches, a video clip about COP29 was shown, and presentations in line with the seminar program were delivered.

Məbud Nəsibov, Senior Consultant of the Environmental Use Regulation and Ecological Awareness Sector of the 8th RETSI, presented on “The World is Our Home: Let’s Unite for a Green World!” Ülkər Paşayeva, Consultant of the same sector, spoke on “Environmental Pollution and Preventive Measures,” while MSU faculty members Gülmirə Məmmədova discussed “The Public-Political and Social Aspects of Azerbaijan’s COP29 Presidency,” and Aysel Bayramova presented on “COP29: Expectations for the World and Our Country.”

The presentations were well-received by the participants.

It is worth noting that various events are being organized at MSU within the framework of the “Year of Solidarity for a Green World.”
