On February 2024, 29, Mingachevir State University (MSU) hosted a meeting on the Erasmus+ project “improving the Green and sustainable global economy in Azerbaijan universities: Renewable Energy and reducing climate changes” (REFRESH), coordinated by Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC).
The meeting was attended by a group of academic staff members, students and masters of MSU. On December 4-8, 2023 Samira Ahmadova, coordinator of the International Cooperation Office of MSU, who visited the Bologna University of Italyan, gave general information about the project and highlighted the main goals of the project. She said that it serves to increase the potential in universities by involving teaching staff in the program of trainers to improve teaching methodologies and programs, to start pilot courses in partner higher education institutions.
Then she noted that the aim of the “REFRESH” project, which has a total cost of 703 thousand euros, is to make significant contributions to the implementation of tasks arising from the strategic document “Azerbaijan 2030: National Priorities for socio-economic development” in addition to national personnel training in universities on renewable energy sources. The project covers a period of 3 years and the consortium consists of 15 partners, including 6 local, 4 European universities (University of Barcelona in Spain, University of Bologna in Italy, Royal University of Technology in Sweden, Technical University of Denmark) and non-governmental organizations. She also emphasized that the participation of universities in such projects is necessary and will play an important role in training new personnel for the country.
