Mingachevir State University (MSU) held a scientific-practical seminar on “Modern approaches to the protection of water resources” within the “Year of Solidarity for a Green World”. Employees of the Mingachevir Water Canal Department, Regional Ecology and Natural Resources Department No. 8, a group of faculty members of the Faculty of Engineering of MSU, students and masters took part in the seminar.
Opening the seminar with an introduction, Tarana Yusibova, head of the Department of Physics and Ecology of MSU, talked about the modern approaches to the protection of water resources and the essence of the “Year of Solidarity for a Green World” in Azerbaijan, the call to the world. She emphasized the importance of rapidly developing environmental activities and measures in our country, the importance and achievements of the work done in this field.
In her speech, T. Yusibova emphasized that there is a direction aimed at increasing our ideas and activities on the protection of water resources and the development of green world ideas.
After the opening speech, the video “Water is the source of life” was shown and reports were heard according to the program of the seminar.
Tural Dursunov, Head of the Department of Analysis of Water Canal Systems of the Mingachevir Water Canal Administration, “The Current State of the Drinking Water Supply and Sewerage Systems of the City of Mingachevir”, Ulker Pashayeva, Consultant of the Environmental Use Regulation and Environmental Monitoring Sector of the Regional Ecology and Natural Resources Department No. 8, “Mechanism of Contaminated Water Purification”, Gulmira Mammadova, one of the teachers of MSU , gave reports on “Methods of oil pollution and protection of the Caspian Sea” and Aysel Bayramova on “Ecological problems of the main water artery of Azerbaijan”.
After the reports, which were received with interest by the participants, the students of the “Ecology” and “Ecological Engineering” specialties of MSU watched a video clip of the experiment on the determination of phosphate, nitrate and ammonium on water samples taken from the Kura River.
It should be noted that various events are held at MSU within the framework of the “Year of Solidarity for the Green World”.
