MSU is ready to contribute to the “Year of Solidarity for a Green World”

At Mingachevir State University (MSU), a plan of events has been prepared within the framework of the “Year of Solidarity for a Green World”. At the meeting held on December 30, 2024 with the participation of the academic-administrative staff of MSU, discussions were held on the Decree of the President of Azerbaijan dated December 25, 2023 on declaring 2024 as the “Year of Solidarity for a Green World” in Azerbaijan and the tasks ahead.

Rector Shahin Bayramov said that the decision to hold the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change – COP 29 in 2024 in Azerbaijan is a very important event. Azerbaijan’s hosting of this prestigious event is one of the biggest victories of President Ilham Aliyev. This decision accepted by all the countries of the world is a clear example of the great trust and respect shown to our country. He noted that as a university, it is our duty to support this decision signed by the country’s president. With the support of MSU scientists, MSU, as a science and educational institution with great potential, will not be left out of these processes in the “Year of Solidarity for a Green World”, and by showing its support to the society, it will give further impetus to the work of our country in this direction.

Turkish guest professor Evren Güçer, who works at MSU, made a broad presentation about the work to be done by the MSU team in the upcoming period in connection with the “Year of Solidarity for the Green World”. His views aimed at continuously supporting measures taken in our country to combat climate change and protect the environment were unanimously accepted after discussion. In the end, rector Sh.Bayramov, who positively evaluated the presentation of E.Gucher, put forward certain proposals. He advised to expand the activities in this direction, aim to further increase the ecological responsibility, and called the entire team to be united.
