On May 16, 2024, Mingachevir State University (MSU) hosted a scientific and theoretical seminar on the topic “Food Security is a Strategic Issue” as part of the “Year of Solidarity for a Green World.” The event, organized by the Department of Physics and Ecology, was attended by MSU’s faculty, students, and graduate students.

In his speech, Vüqar Mustafayev, Head of the MSU Department of Science and Innovations, emphasized that food security is considered a critical component of the national economic security system by countries worldwide. He noted that efforts in this area have strengthened the country’s food security system.

Təranə Yusibova, Head of the Department of Physics and Ecology, shared her thoughts on the topic and discussed the targeted measures being implemented to enhance the country’s food security.

An informative video titled “The Exceptional Role of Food Security in Public Health” was presented.

Following the video, the department’s lecturers delivered presentations. Leyla Əhmədova spoke on “Food Security in Azerbaijan,” Gülmirə Məmmədova on “The Food Security Problem in a Globalized World,” Aysel Bayramova on “Ensuring Food Security as a Crucial Condition for Human Development,” and Fəridə Həsənli on “Food Security and Sustainable Food.”

The scientific seminar concluded with a discussion session.

It is worth noting that various events are being held at MSU throughout the “Year of Solidarity for a Green World.”
