MDU students held an awareness seminar on the topic “Green Cybersecurity Concept: Ensuring Digital Security

On May 15, 2024, as part of the “Year of Solidarity for a Green World,” an awareness seminar titled “Green Cybersecurity Concept: Ensuring Digital Security” was organized by Mingachevir State University (MSU) at Mingachevir city’s secondary school No. 13, named after N. Ahangari. The seminar was held under the program of the “Green Information Technology Week” and was attended by MSU faculty, schoolteachers, students, graduate students, and pupils.

The Dean of MSU’s Faculty of Engineering, Almaz Aliyeva, delivered a speech highlighting the importance of the green cybersecurity concept and ensuring digital security. Additional insights were shared by Vuqar Mustafayev, Head of MSU’s Science and Innovations Department, and Aida Mustafayeva, Head of the Information Technology Department.

Following these discussions, student presentations were delivered as part of the seminar program. Presentations included the following topics:

  • Gulnar Ismayilova: “Digital Threats and Phishing Identification”
  • Afghan Hasanov: “Protection of Personal Data and Password Security”
  • Aytac Feyzullayeva: “Legal, Ethical, and Professional Issues in Cybersecurity”
  • Adil Ahmadzadeh: “The Impact of Social Engineering on Sustainable Development.”

The presentations primarily addressed cybersecurity threats that children and teenagers may face online, methods of protection, proper internet usage, and related topics. These discussions captured the interest of participants.
