On May 17, 2024, the final module of the “Environmental Impact Assessment” training, organized by the Department of Physics and Ecology at Mingachevir State University (MSU) as part of the “Year of Solidarity for a Green World,” was held. The training was attended by a group of MSU staff, students, and graduate students.

Aytac Cavadova, a lecturer from the Department of Physics and Ecology, provided an overview of the training, explaining that it consisted of five modules. She noted that students had voluntarily registered for the training and eagerly listened to the presentations by experts. She also emphasized that the research conducted to support efforts against global climate change would encourage increased student involvement in this field in the future.

Shəbnam İslamova, a lecturer from the same department, delivered a presentation on “Renewable Energy Sources: Trends in Use in Azerbaijan and Worldwide,” providing useful information for students.

At the end of the training, students were tested on the topics covered in the five modules. Those who demonstrated high results will be evaluated and awarded certificates.

The “Environmental Impact Assessment” training, which started on April 19, 2024, covered the following topics in its previous modules: “Climate Change and Its Mitigation,” “Environmental Safety,” “The Acceptable Discharge Limits for Harmful Substances into Water Bodies from Wastewater and for Atmospheric Emissions from Enterprises,” and “Green Business.” In addition to MSU faculty, the lectures were delivered by Professor Evren Güçer from MSU, Ülkər Paşayeva, an environmental regulation and ecological monitoring consultant from the Mingachevir City Regional Ecology and Natural Resources Department, and Cavid Abbasov, an employee at the Mingachevir Regional Testing and Diagnostics Center of the Azerbaijan Scientific-Research and Project-Search Energy Institute.
