On June 14, 2024, a roundtable discussion on the topic “Green World, Clean Sky” was held at BioGarden, organized by the Sheki Regional Scientific Center (REM) of ANAS, Mingachevir State University, and supported by the BioGarden Agroecological Tourism Center, in accordance with the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the “Year of Solidarity for a Green World” in 2024 and the decision of the Presidium of ANAS dated January 9, 2024.

The roundtable was attended by employees of the Sheki REM and professors and teachers from Mingachevir State University. The guests were also introduced to the BioGarden garden.

Opening the event, Yusif Şükürlü, Director of Sheki REM, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor, greeted the guests and provided detailed information about the activities of the Scientific Center.

Following that, the speakers presented on various topics: Prof. Evren Güçer from Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University and Mingachevir State University spoke on “Green Management in Tourism,” Hüseyn Mustafabəyli, Head of the Landscape Department of Sheki REM and Doctor of Geological and Mineral Sciences, discussed “Protecting the Green World in the Context of Global Warming,” Nərmin Əliyeva, a lecturer from the Department of Economics at Mingachevir State University, and Aygün İsmayılova, a researcher in the Department of Ecological Geography, presented on “Decorative Gardening as an Agroecological Tourism Cluster,” and Etibar Nuriyev, Director of BioGarden Agroecological Tourism Center, spoke about “The Role of the Private Sector in the Transition to a Green World.” The roundtable continued with questions and discussions related to the topics.

On behalf of the leadership of Sheki REM, certificates of appreciation were presented to Mingachevir State University and BioGarden Agroecological Tourism Center for their cooperation.

In conclusion, Arif Tağıyev, Head of the Department of Economics at Mingachevir State University, expressed his gratitude to the Director of Sheki REM on behalf of the university’s rector for the invitation and partnership proposal, emphasizing his confidence that cooperation would continue in a broader scope in the future.
